Course description
This course surveys British literature from the Romantics period to the present day (or the late twentieth century). It provides
students with a framework for understanding the history and development of the British literary corpus, and it complements ENGL 2006.
The course builds upon first-year English courses by focusing on the close critical analysis of poetry and prose and by emphasizing
the critical contexts for interpretation. In addition, ENGL 2007 continues from ENGL 2006 in introducing the research and bibliographic
skills necessary for further work in the discipline of English Studies.
